My girlfriend has really thick calves due to her playing sports, and I was wondering if there is a way to exercise to make them.. thinner? I don’t want her to diet or turn the muscle into fat or anything, i just want them to be more tone. Is there anything specific low impact exercises, like swimming, she should do?

..Are you serious? How shallow are you?
Anyways, when you stretch immediately after working out (or playing sports in her case) it’ll help make the muscle less bulky. I do a lot of weight training and I’m not bulky at all because of this.
And your idea of ‘toned’ probably is just some skinny chicken legged girls. A lot of girls with thin legs don’t exercise at all and their legs are just all fat.

yep the best exercise for you is to turn the lights out when you go to bed to make whoopy because it sounds like it bothers you more than her. I would support her athletics or she could be a big mamma.

How big are her calves, plus how much she weighs and her height.
The best way to lose size is to do endurance exercises like jogging, but if she is all muscle then the only way to lose it is to train with less intensity.

      Hi Ray-Bann
I don’t know if you know the author Dr. Covert Bailey who wrote the ‘Fit or Fat’ series of books (I’ll give you a link to more info on this below) has a & fat calculator. It involves taking 4 measurements with a tape measure and then putting them into a formula. But here’s what I thought you’d find interesting. For women…. the measurement his formula includes are:

Hips and thigh: the proportion between these is to determine the % fat
Wrist: to determine the bone size
Calf: to measure the muscle content.

I’ll give you a link to this fat calculator below.

So she DOESN’T want them to be thinner. They’re indicative of having a high percentage muscle which is the tissue that utilizes the most energy to stay alive.

The only way would be to stop the exercising and lose the muscle mass. But, thick calf muscles are healthy and beautiful, I think. They look a bit masculine, and that is what you don’t like.

Well, any muscle on a lady is going to look masculine, unfortunately. But, why can’t women be tough too? Why must we be soft and weak? Duh!
